Chris Jamieson - Chairperson
This is
my first term serving on a Board of Trustees. I work as a mechanical
draftsman in New Plymouth and have a seven year old son at Mimi School.
Coming from an urban background I have really enjoyed moving into a rural
environment. The school has always had a good positive feel to it when you
walk into it and I have responded to the challenge of getting involved as a
parent in the governance of a great school

Having attended Mimi
School as a child, I have returned to the farm after some time exploring.
My eldest two children currently attend Mimi School. I have been pleased to
see that in an age of changing values, the values of the rural school have
remained the same, and in some cases, even improved. I have been impressed
with the manner that parents are now welcome to be involved in the
education of their children.
Maire Gill - Finance
This
is my first term serving on the BoT after being appointed in November of
last year.
My daughter Ayla
is in the junior Room, while my two youngest daughters Kamia and Jade
attend pre-school sessions at the school. I also have two older children at
Waitara High School.
I feel that
serving on the Board gives me the opportunity to get involved with the go
ahead of our marvelous school and I am thoroughly enjoying the challenge
that the role brings.

I
am serving my second term on the Mimi School Board of Trustees. My eldest
son Kane has moved on from Mimi School to Manukorihi Intermediate, while
Todd, my youngest, is in the Senior Class. Both my boys really enjoy the
outdoor activities that they are able to do at Mimi. I was really lucky to
have been involved with the schools camp to Great Barrier Island and share
the once in a life-time experience with the children and look forward to
the next one.
