Mimi School Information

Thank you for taking the time to consider Mimi School for your child and family. North Taranaki is full of great schools and I’m confident that you can enrol your children in any of your nearest schools and they will receive a top quality education from the numerous quality teachers we have in the area. I would encourage your first step to be approaching your nearest primary school to see what they have to offer as there are huge educational benefits to have your children attending your nearest school.

We feel that our small rural school has got a lot to offer a child’s education. We are proud to be able to offer many exciting programmes at Mimi, many of which are not being offered in larger urban schools. We appreciate that choosing a school for your family is an important decision, and we hope sees you and your family forge a long-running and close association with whatever school you choose. In order to allow you to fully consider the local options, we have compiled an Information Pack. Please take the time to read through the information provided. This should give you a general picture of our school, our approach to learning and teaching, and an insight into some of the events that we participate in at Mimi School.

If you wish to see the teachers and classrooms in action, or would like to discuss anything in more detail, our principal is happy to organise classroom visits or a meeting. Should you decide to enrol your child with us, our school administrator, Connie O’Brien is also happy to assist with filling out the necessary forms on the day.

We hope that whatever you decide to make your child’s educational home, you develop the kind of partnership with your school and teachers to provide the best possible education for your kids.

Mimi Home & School Association

The Home & School members do an amazing job (behind the scenes) organising and fundraising for our school. Their fundraising efforts have become increasingly important for the “extras” that get offered in our school. Their achievements have included:

  • School camps
  • Young Leaders
  • Sun Shade
  • School Garden
  • Board Games
  • and much much more……….
Every year a substantial amount is raised and donated to the school to assist the school with events and resources. Every dollar raised by the hard working Home & School committee is carefully directed to where the “rubber hits the road” by providing experiences and resources that enrich the educational experience of all of our students.

Thank You!

Thanks to all of the sponsors, supporters, parents and the wonderful community who contributed to another very successful Mimi “Old School” Gala Day
